Delhi Liquor Booking App: How to Book Step by Step
You have the Delhi Liquor Booking app installed and you want your first order done without drama. Good. The flow is short once you see it laid out. This guide walks through every step, then fixes the three problems people hit most: no QR code, the wrong store, and a missed pickup window. If you have not installed the app yet, start from the official listing through our download page and check that the developer reads DSIIDC Ltd.
Before you start
Three things first. You need to be 25 or older, because that is Delhi's legal drinking age. You need a mobile number for sign-up. And you need to be able to reach a DSIIDC store within 48 hours of paying, because that is your collection window and there is no home delivery. The app covers DSIIDC's 208 outlets only, so settle on a store you can actually get to.
Step 1: Sign up
Open the app. You will see a statutory warning. Read it, agree to it, and enter your mobile number. That is your account. Keep the same number handy for later bookings, since your orders tie back to it.
Step 2: Browse brands and check stock
Pick a store and browse what it has. The useful part is the stock check. You can see whether your brand and bottle size are available at that store before money changes hands. If your first-choice store is out of stock, try another DSIIDC outlet nearby instead of travelling on hope.
Step 3: Pick your store carefully
This is the step people rush, and it is the one that causes the most trouble. Your order is locked to the store you pick. You cannot collect it from a different outlet, even another DSIIDC one. Zoom in on the store name and locality, and pick the one you will genuinely visit within two days.
Step 4: Choose size and quantity
Select the bottle size and how many you want. Keep the legal limits in mind: up to 9 litres of whisky and 18 litres of beer per person. The app should stop you crossing the line, but knowing the limits helps you plan a group purchase across people properly. Our explainer on the age limit, quantity limits and pickup rules covers this in full.
Step 5: Pay online
Pay inside the app. Paying ahead is the whole point. Your billing is done before you travel, the price is transparent, and the counter staff only need to hand over the order. Keep your payment confirmation until you have collected.
Step 6: Save your QR code
After payment you get a QR code for the order. Screenshot it as well as keeping it in the app. A screenshot saves you if the app is slow to open at the store or your signal drops at the wrong moment.
Step 7: Collect within 48 hours
Go to your chosen store within 48 hours of payment. Show the QR code. Staff scan it, match the order, and hand over your bottles. Check the bottles at the counter before you leave, because returns are not accepted once the order is collected.
Problem 1: The QR code never arrived
First, wait a few minutes and check the app again, including any orders or bookings section. Payments sometimes settle a little after the money leaves your account. Check your payment confirmation too. If the payment succeeded and the code still does not show, do not pay a second time. Visit your chosen store with your payment proof and explain, or try again later once the first payment status is clear. Paying twice for the same order creates a refund chase you do not want.
Problem 2: You picked the wrong store
It happens. Names look similar, and Delhi has a lot of similar localities. You cannot transfer the order to another store. Your clean option is to cancel before collection and book again at the right store. That is why Step 3 deserves ten slow seconds. Read the full store name out loud before you pay. It feels silly. It works.
Problem 3: You missed the 48-hour window
Life happens, and sometimes the two days slip away. Do not assume the store will still hold the order. Treat the booking as closed, check the app for the order status, and book fresh when you can make the trip. Next time, book on the day you know you can travel, not on a maybe. The window runs from payment, not from your first free evening.
A smooth first booking
Book in the morning, collect the same day if you can, and your first run will likely be your easiest. Shorter queues and no billing-counter wait are exactly what officials said the app was built for. Once you have done it once, the whole thing takes a couple of minutes. And if your nearest vend never appears in the store list, our guide to which stores the app covers and why explains the four-corporation split behind it.
